Our house

While I am very grateful to have such a great house I am starting to wonder wonder what else? We havent been able to get our heater in the garage to work. So I called a technician to come out (at $145/hour we are in the wrong business!) So he replaced the fuel pump (how can a fuel pump cost $140 for a tiny fuel pump!) and then worked on it another two hours in -20 degrees and it still doesnt work! Porr guy just kept trying and I tried to get him to come inside for a minute or at least take some tea or cocoa or coffee. So he thinks the fuel company put #2 in the tank! I dont even know how we are going to fix that! LOL Poor guy had a bad night (I had to open the door while i was nursing Ava I was covered but he was really embarassed!) I just hope this is the end of the problems with the house! At least the black stuff stopped coming in the water!

Avas pumpkin

So whats scary to a mom? A blow out!

Trick or Treating Alaska Style

So it was around 0 degrees (and was supposed to be -5 tonight) with a slight breeze Logan had on wool long underwear, fleece sweatpants, a long sleeve shirt, a flannel shirt, his snow bibs a fleece coat wool socks and -40 snowboots oh and a balaclava and knit cap and then the costume! Ava was wearing wool long underwear, a fleece jammer, a fleece bunting her costume then I put her in a carrier and put an artic weight carhartt on. I had long johns cloths my carhartt bibs, carhartt coat carhartt cap and the baby! I was Pregnant Sarah Palin! (Some people didnt know I had Ava in there lol! We stayed warm though and walked Logan around the nieghborhood with our neighbors Ted and Onan (who was Harry Potter so Logans Dragon and Onan went together!)

Halloween at the Museum of the North

We went to UAF Museum of the North for Halloween Night Friday. It was awesome they had their Laboratories open and showed the kids all sorts of cool thing (including squishing real eyeballs!)

Wow havent been on here in a while!

Well I wanted to look at a friends blog tonight and realized we havent put anything on here! We have been really busy trying to get things done before the snow flew and it got cold! Miss Ava is doing well and was 12 lbs 12 ounces at her 2 month check up! The doctor asked us if we had her doing squats because she is so strong! She already has total head control! He cant believe with all the reflux and digestive problems she has she is gaining weight! She has had the reflux pretty bad since she was born. She has to sit up for 30 minutes to an hour after she eats or she gaggs and cant breathe. I am completely and utterly off of Dairy, chocolate, coffee (decaf even), broccoli, rich foods etc.. I have to watch the amount of Soy I eat as well or else Ms. Ava screams for 3-6 hours at night and then throws up (we have had some interesting nights when Bill is at work). It is hard for Logan because I cant put her down even after nursing her for 30 minutes! I have to admit I have started to get discouraged with nursing her (which i never felt even having to pump 3/4 of the time with Logan). Life with Bill at camp has taken some getting used to. We are trying to only heat with wood due to the cost of oil here so that adds to things. But we are managing!

New Dafoe addition!

Miss Ava Jeanette Dafoe was born on August 22, 2009 at 8:23 am after 30 hours of labor in Fairbanks, Alaska. Yes Alaska! We have moved to North Pole Alaska after both of our mines shutdown due to lack of financial backing. Bill took a job with the Pogo Mine and I get to stay home with my babies! So far we like it we will see when we have no sunlight and its 40 below for 6 months! Life is going well though and we are thankful to have a healthy family and a job period in this climate!

Havent Blogged in a while!

Things have been crazy lately (and Facebook is addicting) so I am sorry for not blogging for sooo long! Bill has had three interviews so far. Logan and I flew with him to Carlsbad, NM for 4 days to tour a Potash mine, then we went to Reno for 7 days to see family. Logan and I flew back to Helena while Bill flew to Fairbanks, AK to interview at a gold mine there (Pogo). While he was flying back on Friday another gold mine in Nevada called and set up an interview for this morning so Bill got back on a plane Sunday morning and should be home Monday night! Whew! Hopefully thoguh he will receive an offer and we can figure out where we are going! I hoep to get the house on the market this week and if you know anyone who wants to buy a 2280 sq. ft 4 bdrm house in Helena, MT on 6 acres let us know!
